Cheshire based Nelson Hotels were delighted to raise £193.93 for The Cardiomyopathy Association during their recent pancake week activities.

The event between 3-7 March involved all four Nelson Hotels properties donating 10% of all pancake sales to The Great Pancake Party in support of The Cardiomyopathy Association. Some good-natured competition quickly emerged between the teams from the Grosvenor Pulford Hotel & Spa and the three sister inns.  The winning property was The Fishpool Inn, Delamere with 130 sweet crêpe sales and 24 savoury sold during the week.

Sales and Marketing Director Lucy Nelson commented “We are delighted that so many people got involved, voted for their preferred fillings on Facebook and then came along to devour their favourite pancakes – all in the name of charity.”

The Great Pancake Party was the inaugural national fundraising event headed by Cardiomyopathy sufferer Lynn Hedgecoe. Through this and various other events, they are hoping to raise £25,000 which will help sufferers gain access to vital, life-changing support as well as pay for training videos for doctors and nurses to educate them on the condition.  Lynn added “this event, and others all over the country, were a great success and my thanks go to all those who took the time to get involved. So far from this event alone we have raised £15,000 and counting.”
