The family-run Nelson Hotels & Inns collection has been awarded several accolades for its Cheshire businesses at the 2022 Taste Cheshire Food & Drink Awards.

Grosvenor Pulford Hotel & Spa, The Pheasant Inn and The Fishpool Inn all took home honours during the long-awaited return of the Cheshire hospitality community’s big celebration.

The Pheasant Inn took home the top Gold award in the Cheshire Accommodation Award category, whilst Grosvenor Pulford Hotel & Spa and The Fishpool Inn secured the Silver awards for Event Venue of the Year and Best Cheshire Pub respectively. The Pheasant Inn also scooped up the Bronze accolade in the pub category alongside The Fishpool Inn, and Grosvenor Pulford Hotel was amongst the five finalists vying for the Cheshire Accommodation Award.

The team from Nelson Hotels & Inns joined Cheshire’s finest hospitality businesses at a glittering ceremony held at Chester Racecourse on Wednesday 28th September. The much-anticipated evening marked the first such gathering of Taste Cheshire’s in three years, following the disruption of the COVID-19 pandemic.

More than 350 guests turned out to celebrate the achievements of Cheshire’s food, drink and hospitality scene with awards in 15 categories up for grabs. Over 58,000 votes were cast by the public before the Taste Cheshire team mystery-shopped their way to crowning the top food and drink businesses in the county.

True to the spirit of Taste Cheshire, guests were treated to local delights including a signature arrival cocktail from Three Wrens Gin and a delicious 4-course meal featuring an abundance of produce from handpicked local suppliers.

Andrew Nelson, who was in attendance at the event with members of his team, commented: “We are over the moon to see our properties recognised in several different categories this year. It is a true testament to the quality, passion and tenacity of our teams to have continued to provide exceptional experiences for our guests through this period’s many challenges. Taste Cheshire laid on one of their best events yet, much deserved for all after the tribulations our industry has weathered!”
