The Fishpool Inn, Delamere has been crowned as ‘Best Tourism Pub’ at an awards ceremony which celebrates excellence and outstanding achievement across Cheshire and Warrington’s tourism businesses.
Now in their 8th year, the annual Marketing Cheshire Awards recognise exceptional work delivered by all sectors of the tourism and hospitality industry, with more than 50 individuals, initiatives and businesses competing across 14 categories.
Katrina Michel, Chief Executive of Marketing Cheshire says, “The awards are about celebrating all that is wonderful about the tourism industry in Cheshire. We are privileged to be able to list so many stand-out venues, brands and experiences on offer in the sub-region.”
This year’s evening of fine dining and entertainment was held at the iconic Chester Racecourse on Thursday 27th November, with more than 380 guests in attendance all hoping to receive recognition for their contribution to tourism.
Anticipation was quickly transformed into celebration for The Fishpool Inn as they were awarded with ‘Best Tourism Pub of the Year’ by this year’s host Andy Bailey.
This bustling gastro inn has continued to grow from strength to strength since re-opening in February 2013 following a multi-million pound refurbishment, and this latest award joins its previous accolade of ‘Best New Pub’ at the Publican Awards, which took place earlier this year.
Nelson Hotels operations director, Andrew Nelson, comments: “We strive to deliver a first-class experience for every customer by providing an exceptional food offering that is delivered with genuine warmth and hospitality in comfortable and characterful surroundings. To have this recognised in the form of another highly regarded award is fantastic indeed. Thanks go to the entire team whose hard work has contributed to our success”.
